THS Band – notes for the week of October 5, 2014

Dear Trinity Band Family,

Thank you to everyone who contributed to a wonderful beginning to Trinity’s marching contest season!  The breakfast brigade had all hands on deck to feed the band Saturday morning and had the students through the lines in less than 10 minutes – wow!  More than 50 people lined the parking lot to cheer for the band as they departed from THS (photo attached) – even the family of our Principal Mr. Harris was there.  25 volunteers traveled to Midlothian (and back!) with the band, and countless spectators (including alumni) made the trip to watch the band perform.

If you have not had a chance to see the Midlothian finals performance yet (or you just can’t get enough), you can see it here:

Special thanks to Home Depot for loaning the band a lumber cart to make it easier to transport the tarps from the truck to the field and back!

And a shout out to Jersey Mike’s for delivering our lunches to Midlothian!

And who knew that our new best friends would be the staff at the Midlothian Conference Center who allowed us access to their grounds for lunch and kept their facility open late for us, providing a clean, comfortable, quiet place for the band to rest before finals!

Black & Blue Showdown – Canned Food Drive

Some of you may have already sent canned food donations to school (all HEB ISD schools are participating), but in case you haven’t or you want to help ensure another win over Bell, you may bring canned food to the game on Thursday or deliver it to the 6Stones office.
