Good Morning, Trinity Band Family –
Yesterday, the itinerary for Trinity’s performance at the UIL Area Marching Contest at Pennington Field was sent out. This is an exciting opportunity for our band – competing with 21 other bands from 4 regions who all qualified for this contest for a chance to represent our Area at the State Marching Contest in San Antonio.
This event is held every other year at stadiums around the area. Hosting the contest at Pennington is a great honor and also a tremendous responsibility and commitment for the Trinity and Bell Boosters as we supply the manpower to support the UIL staff in running this event.
Please take a look at the following links and select the places where you can help. Click the first link to see a list of available volunteer shifts (along with a brief description of each job) and click the second link to see items needed for the hospitality room (where directors and administrators gather throughout the day). Reminder: VIPS hours count for time AND donations so please log both!
We understand that this is a busy day for everyone and if there was ever a time to use the phrase “many hands make light work,” this is it! We’re in the home stretch, and we want to do all we can to support our students and directors on Saturday. (Remember to select your volunteer shift quickly as Bell Boosters use the same link for sign ups!)
Admission to the contest is $5 for Adults and $3 for non-band students. Check in for a volunteer shift of 2 hours or more to receive a complimentary wristband to the full day’s events. Work a little, then come cheer a lot!!
Please help us show the bands in our Area why HEB was named a 2014 “Best Community for Music Education” by the NAMM! Our bands and Boosters are the BEST!!
Thank you for all that you do to support the Trinity Trojan Band! We’ll see you at Pennington on Saturday.
PS – watch for an email from Mrs. Sword about ways you can help get our band’s day off to a great start with a modified breakfast request list.
